Chmaitilliová, Dina ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Krausz Hladká, Malvína (referee)
Diploma thesis "The Political and Economic Relations of Spain and Morocco: interdependence or a security question? " deals with the political and economical relations of Spain and Morocco from the end of the 1950's to the present. The relationship between these two countries is based not only on mutual cooperation and support but also on mutual rivalry. The most sensitive area almost throughout the analyzed period is the fishing policy, and the territorial dispute over Western Sahara, Ceuta and Melilla, Sidi Ifni (Leila) and the island Isla de Perejil (arabic Leila). The main hypothesis of the thesis is that the relationship of Spain and Morocco corresponds to the neo-liberal theory and therefore a priority in their mutual relations is the economic objectives and to ensure the prosperity. The relation of these two countries doesn't correspond to the neo-realistic theory and the security objectives don't have high priority. We verified this hypothesis by using the Congruance Method, the comparative method of the study period and by the dependent and independent variables. Dependent variable include the political and economic relations and the independent variables include the economic reform in Morocco, mutual bilateral cooperation, fishing policy, the various Spanish governments' policies towards...

Development of the economic relations between Germany and the Visegrád Group before and after east enlargement of the EU
Karnitskaya, Helena ; Kučera, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kačmárová, Pavla (referee)
During the eastern enlargement of the EU four emerging countries of the Visegrád Group - Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary - joined the community of European states. This significant event notably affected not only the transformation process in the countries mentioned above but also their relations with the EU member states. The aim of this master thesis is to research the impact of the eastern enlargement of the EU on economic relations between C.E. countries and Germany, and to answer the question whether the EU accession was the main decisive factor for the dynamic development of economic cooperation between the above mentioned states. The analysis of economic relations focuses on two key dimensions: trade relations and direct investment. The government's policy of supporting the investment activities both in Germany and C.E. countries is also taken into account. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first chapter intends to analyze the integration process of the C.E. countries in the '90s and its influence on the dynamic development of the economic cooperation between Germany and Visegrád Group. The second section deals with the theoretical aspects of international trade and foreign direct investment. This part intends to provide comparative criteria that will help in answering...
Analysis of selected aspects of Czech-Kosovo relations in the perspective of the southern Balkans between 2008-2014
Zavada, Milan ; Handl, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šístek, František (referee)
The Bachelor Analysis of selected aspects of Czech-Kosovo relations in the perspective of the southern Balkans between 2008-2014 deals with three main aspects of the relations between the Czech Republic and The Republic of Kosovo: diplomatic and political aspect, mutual economic relations aspect and the Czech development aid. Centerpiece of the thesis predominantly consists of the mutual relations from 2008 to 2014. The core of this thesis lies especially in an empirical analysis of lesser known facts whilst also looking at whether mutual relations have been unfavourable to Kosovo since its independence. This thesis analyses Czech foreign policy based on these three features and compares it to selected Balkan countries. All of the Balkan countries used for this comparison are introduced with respect to relevant factors for this analysis. The same applies to foreign policy relations of the Czech Republic and Kosovo. Given this comparative analysis, it enables us to evaluate the results of Czech diplomatic efforts towards Kosovo. In conclusion, it finds that mutual dealings have not been unfavourable nor influenced by prejudice against Albanians held by the Czech public as well as part of the Czech political representatives.

The aim of the dissertation thesis is to compare the political relations of the Russian Federation and four Visegrad countries and to identify various aspects which contribute most to the differences in the form, content and closeness of the relations. The core of the thesis is a comparative case study focused on the comparison of context of individual bilateral relations. These will be viewed as a clash of two foreign policies. Neoclassical realism will serve as the theoretical background for the analysis of Russian and Visegrad countries´ foreign policies. The methodological apparatus of international political economy will be used as well.
European Union Normative Power in Azerbaijan
Kotásková, Tereza ; Havlová, Radka (advisor) ; Dubský, Zbyněk (referee)
Azerbaijan presents itself as a country with an independent foreign policy, refusing European requirements for democratic reforms within the Eastern Partnership. Yet, the European Union keeps developing mutual relations, especially in the field of energy cooperation. The EU has been criticized for betraying its fundamental values of democracy and human rights, and doubts arise if the EU can represent a normative power, as described by Ian Manners in 2002. This master thesis therefore analyzes the European policy in Azerbaijan from a normative perspective. It concludes that the European Union's policy in Azerbaijan is normative and the economic cooperation is not an obstacle. Nevertheless, the impact of the European policy is hampered, making it not possible to state that EU has normative power. The main reasons are insufficient efficiency of European means and Azerbaijan's hostile approach. Still, the current situation of Azerbaijan's economic problems provides Europe with potential to increase its normative influence.
